Jan died peacefully and at home late in the evening of Monday, September 28th. In her last weeks Jan was surrounded by flowers, family and friends.

She will be sadly missed by her family - sister-in-law Barbara LaFlamme and her husband Robert; brother-in-law David Carter; niece Carri-Ann Scott, husband Jim and great-niece Janna; nephew Dan Carter and his wife Leah McTiernan; niece Gerri-Leah Ellery, husband Tim, great nephew Stan, great niece Marion, and great nephew TJ; and niece Jennifer Graham, her husband George, great niece Emily, and great nephew Jack.

Jan was a staff member at the University of Guelph Library for over 30 years and leaves behind many dear friends and colleagues.

During the difficult last 18 months of her life we were blessed to receive so much help and support. We were surrounded by such caring and compassionate folks. Jan and I want to thank everyone especially, the "coffee babes", the wonderful nurses of the Chemotherapy Clinic of the Guelph General Hospital, Jeannette, Ann and the nurses from Bayshore, Tammy and the CCAC, and all the PSW's (especially Rick and Linda) who made our lives easier.

A Memorial service will be planned for the spring of 2016 at the University Guelph Arboretum.

Jan - my best friend, partner in all things,
and light of my life.

With deepest love, Jim
